The Friends in Art Exhibition originated when the Jaguar Landrover brand identified a desire to become involved in the community on a level it can relate to. It created this platform with Friends in Art for artists to be given an alternative means at exhibiting their work to the public, with a canvas of beautiful vehicles to display their work around. Working with Anita van Zyl, the brainchild behind Friends in Art, JL has built an unique platform for artists to receive an opportunity that seems hard to come by. “We are here to exhibit not only art, but the freedom of art and not inhibiting it like many other exhibitions and festivals do by exploiting struggling artists,” said an impassioned Anita. Therefore she likes to refer to this exhibition as a ‘fringe exhibition’.
